The Final Update

"Faith is not some weak and pitiful emotion,
but is a strong and vigorous confidence built on the fact that
God is holy love."

-Oswald Chambers

Jeff is home.  He is standing before holy love and is free from the heavy hearts we carry.  Thank you for walking through this journey with us.  I know we are not alone.

Jeff's scripture for the year of 2015 was "But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.  Therefore it says, "Awake O sleeper, and arise from the dead.  And Christ will shine on you."  Ephesians 5:13&14

So grateful he is basking in the light of God's holy love.

We are currently making arrangements for a celebration of Jeff's life and will let you all know the details.  Much love, Becca

  1. Just want to encourage you that it's ok to NOT be okay.

Don't let anyone imply there's something wrong with you or your faith for feeling devastated and broken hearted. Walk through those feelings. Grieve. Has not God's heart also broken?

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

I'm praying that God will draw near to you as never before and will enjoy a sacrifice of praise from your broken heart: "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that openly profess his name."
    (Hebrews 13:15)

How precious it is to Him to hear "Jesus is still Lord."

  10. I couldn't even begin to put together a message that I would be satisfied with sending you. But dearest Becca, I couldn't say nothing. I love you so much, and that my thoughts are with you. When I heard the news, a passionate prayer grew in my heart that God would be with you and the boys, and it has not left since. I know I am not the only one - there is so much love for the Stables family on both sides of the Atlantic xx

  17. Oh goodness. You are in my family, although we've never met. When Alisa and John shared of your news, we did the best we could to lift Jeff and your family up in our prayers. We believe in a miracle-making God and you had miracles whether you knew it or not only visible to our amazing God and those around you in the example of Jeff and your family as you journeyed through this difficult time. We are so very sorry for your loss - we're human and want our loved ones around plain and simple. But as Christians, although I don't like the sugary terms, but the reality is Jeff is at the feast set out for him near Jesus and he gets to party in heaven...I can't be just a little bit jealous. Sorry, short and sweet is not my forte; however, I just wanted to share that our prayers will continue as you go through this mourning and time of grieving through what is our beautiful season of Christmas - I send our love, hugs and encouragement for you at this time and share our sorrow with you. We look forward to hearing how you all are doing after the season. May God's peace and comfort be with you. Mark & Michele Elola - Bay Area, California

  22. I'm deeply moved by your faith-filled saga that you have shared so beautifully with us. My heart is in my throat as I take in the reality of this loss - especially for you and the boys. May our ultimate Father meet you and them in infinitely intimate ways. Daily. And as the years go by. May you know Jesus more in this, because of this, in spite of this.

Much love and respect and prayers for you all!
